Quality Management Policy

The primary objective of Townsend Group is to maintain a leading position in the sheet metal manufacturing and installation services industry.

This primary objective will be achieved by understanding our customer needs and expectations and providing products and services which consistently meet those needs and expectations whilst complying with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Associated with this objective is the recognition that our customers expect these products and services to be supplied to acceptable levels of quality, at a competitive price and within an agreed time period.

To ensure these requirements are achieved with discipline and consistency, and to create an environment of continuous improvement, Townsend Group Pty Ltd is committed to the development, implementation and maintenance of a Management System that, as a minimum, meets the requirements of the internationally recognised Quality Management standard AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000.

In doing so we will ensure that our management system:

  • is appropriate for the company,
  • establishes and maintains a continuous improvement work environment,provides a framework for the regular review of objectives,is communicated to and understood at all levels in the organisation, and
  • is regularly reviewed for continuing suitability and effectiveness.

Health & Safety Management Policy

The Directors and Management are committed to compliance with Occupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation legislation and regulations and to the modification of its business practices as legislation and regulations are amended.

In particular, the Company recognises it’s obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation to provide a safe and healthy place of work for it’s employees and operates with the philosophy that

“ALL ACCIDENTS ARE PREVENTABLE”

Every effort will be made in the areas of accident prevention, hazard control and removal, injury protection, health preservation and promotion to achieve a safe workplace.

We believe that health and safety at work is a shared responsibility for all employees and that the success of any health and safety program ultimately relies on the willingness of everyone to work co-operatively and with a team spirit.

Managers and Supervisors will prepare, communicate and implement safety plans, including safety training as required. They will consider safety as the prime factor when designing and implementing all work systems.

All employees are also responsible for their own safety and the safety of their fellow employees. They will take immediate action to minimise the danger from any unsafe condition and ensure that, where such a condition exists, a Manager or Supervisor is advised accordingly.


Environmental Management Policy

The Directors and Management of the organisation acknowledge that the nature of the business’s operations may have an adverse impact on the environment and that legal and moral obligations must be addressed to avoid environmental damage or deterioration.

The Company is committed to compliance with environmental management legislation and regulations and to the modification of its business practices as legislation and regulations are amended.

Managers and Supervisors will ensure that the planning of all work processes considers protection of the environment and they will continue to identify aspects of the operation where such protection can be improved by the changing of process methods and activities.

The primary issues that will be considered at all times are:

  • the prevention of pollution of the atmosphere, the land and the immediate surroundings on and in which business operations are carried out,
  • wherever possible and practicable, the recycling of waste and
  • when recycling is not possible or practicable, ensuring that waste is disposed of in a manner which protects the environment.

All employees are responsible for ensuring the environment is protected from damage at all times and will take immediate action to minimise environmental impacts. Employees are also encouraged to discuss with Managers and Supervisors, changes to existing practices that will help in avoiding environmental damage or deterioration.
