Townsend Group has recently completed the manufacture of a large pedestrian ramp for Brook and Byrne Waterfront Constructions. The 14 metre long x 2 metre wide structure was built in our Mortdale facility and transported to its final home in the Davy Robinson Reserve, on the Georges River at Moorebank, in southern Sydney.
Apart from the walking surface, the structure was all aluminium construction, and comprised fully welded square hollow section structural members, and full length circular hollow section handrails. The walking surface, supplied and installed by Brook and Byrne, consisted of recycled plastic planking.
Catherine from Brook and Byrne said the ramp which connects the reserve to a public pontoon, fulfilled their customer’s needs, by providing public access for craft on the river.
“We are extremely pleased with the end result and believe it enhances the appearance of its surroundings,” she said.
