When Townsend’s put their hand up to undertake the installation contract on the Apple flagship store in Sydney, they did so in the knowledge that the work would need to be to the highest possible standard – in this case Apple standard.
With Apple supplying most of the materials, Townsend were contracted by the builder, Kell & Rigby, to provide drafting, site management and specialised site labour for the project. Our scope of works included the following:-
• supply and installation of framework for the internal linings
• installation of stainless steel wall panels, doors and ceiling features
• installation of unique structurally finned glazed façade and roof
• design, supply and installation of stainless steel gutters, air grilles and floor strips
So pleased were Apple with the results achieved on the Sydney store, there was no hesitation in awarding Townsend’s follow-up contracts on three more stores - San Li Tan, Beijing, China ; Chatswood Chase, Sydney ; and Chadstone, Melbourne.
More stores are planned, and, as the only approved installation contractor in Australia, Townsend’s are looking forward to reinforcing their recently forged alliance with Apple.
